A 50-year-old woman with a history of ascites had a Leveen shunt patency evaluation. After intraperitoneal administration of 111 MBq of Tc-99m human serum albumin macroaggregates, anterior static images of both upper abdomen and chest 10, 20, and 60 minutes postinjection were acquired. The image at 20 minutes showed a lung-like pattern. To remove any doubt, 37 MBq of Tc-99m sodium pertechnetate was injected into a right arm vein to obtain a cardiac blood pool image.
