Introduction and aim: tooth loss is a common disease which affects a large part of population. Tooth loss occurs due to periodontal disease, endodontic lesion, caries, fracture and cracks or alveolar trauma. Implantology allows clinicians to treat edentulism with different techniques. The purpose of this thesis is to evaluate a rehabilitation of infected socket with post-estractive implants in conjunction with Plasma Rich in Growth Factors. Materials and methods: the population was enrolled with strictly inclusion and exclusion criteria. The surgical and prosthetic phase were standardized and the patients were evaluated after 6 and 12 months of prosthesis function. The variable assessed were implant survival, the number and type of complications, and the mesial and distal changes of marginal bone level. Results: the finally sample was formed by 20 patients and 29 implants were inserted. The implant survival rate was 100% after 1 year of function, no complication retrieved. The peri-implant bone loss was 0.38 ± 0.14 mm. Implant location, smoking status, lesion type and bone quality did not affect the implant survival rate. Discussion and conclusion: a critical literature analysis shows how many bacterial species lead to a periodontal or endodontic infection and the pathogenesis interaction between them. Immediate implant placement technique is also investigate, as the effect of platelet concentrate in implant dentistry. The clinical part of this thesis and the high implant survival rate assess the effectiveness of the proposed approach, despite the small sample size.

Abstract

Introduction and aim: tooth loss is a common disease which affects a large part of population. Tooth loss occurs due to periodontal disease, endodontic lesion, caries, fracture and cracks or alveolar trauma. Implantology allows clinicians to treat edentulism with different techniques.
