A novel method for production of No-Carrier-Added Cu-64 and Ga-66,Ga-67 has been developed, based on reactions induced by deuterons up to 19 MeV on Zn target. HPGe and beta (by LSC) spectrometries proved very effective to determine radionuclidic purity of Cu-64 and Ga-66,Ga-67 fractions. Experimental specific activity for Cu-64 was measured by ET-AAS and was of the order of 700 MBq/microg. Radiochemical yields for Cu-64 and 66,67Ga were >80% and >99%.

Abstract

A novel method for production of No-Carrier-Added Cu-64 and Ga-66,Ga-67 has been developed, based on reactions induced by deuterons up to 19 MeV on Zn target. HPGe and beta (by LSC) spectrometries proved very effective to determine radionuclidic purity of Cu-64 and Ga-66,Ga-67 fractions. Experimental specific activity for Cu-64 was measured by ET-AAS and was of the order of 700 MBq/microg. Radiochemical yields for Cu-64 and 66,67Ga were >80% and >99%.
