Natural products continue to be interesting building blocks for the preparation of different types of derivatives that could result noteworthy for their pharmacological activity. The use of epothilone A, camptothecin, thiocolchicine, taxol and cephalomannine as building blocks will be reported together with the biological evaluation. Two cases of synthesis of new collections of tyrosine kinases inhibitors will be presented. The biological activity of the obtained compounds reinforce the importance of modelling studies to guide the design of successful candidates and the value of the interdisciplinary approach.

Abstract

Natural products continue to be interesting building blocks for the preparation of different types of derivatives that could result noteworthy for their pharmacological activity. The use of epothilone A, camptothecin, thiocolchicine, taxol and cephalomannine as building blocks will be reported together with the biological evaluation. Two cases of synthesis of new collections of tyrosine kinases inhibitors will be presented. The biological activity of the obtained compounds reinforce the importance of modelling studies to guide the design of successful candidates and the value of the interdisciplinary approach.
