Search project: Grammar, grammarians, and linguists: patterns of differentiation and convergence, and their evidence in metalanguage. Aim of this search project is the study of the emergence and the function of metalanguage in linguistic thought, in a period when the speculation about language is delimiting the newborn linguistic science as regards to other disciplines and other epistemic paradigms, and defines linguistics as an autonomous field of research. As a special core of interest, the participants to this search deal with the ways and the processes which allow linguistics to create specific lexical terminology, by imitating and borrowing of the lexical tools from other sciences.
