The article deals with the contribution of the Special Court of Sierra Leone (one of the so called internationalized tribunals)b to the development of international law. In particular it dwells upon the criteria elaborated by the Court to qualify a tribunal as international and the innovative solution proposed in the field of international humanitarian law, especially with regard to the war crimes pertaining the enlistment and the use of child soldiers.
