The chapter concludes a volume, edited bu the author, on Industrial districts and exit strategies from economic crisis within an actor-centered institutional approach. On the basis of the results of 2 case-studies of a successful recovery from economic crisis, the conditions under which an intentional process of change can be promoted are discussed. In the interpretation a specific attention is payed on the the shifting role played by the different actors within each given institutional context.
