Associazione tra un dispositivo elastodontico preformato e terapia ortodontica fissa in pazienti adulti

OBJECTIVES. The aim of this work is to evaluate the association of a functional appliance with fixed orthodontic treatment. MATERIALS AND METHODS. Interim G® appliance is introduced. A clinical case of an adult patient is described. RESULTS. The reduction of treatment time is particularly important in adult patients since compliance is greatly improved. Furthermore, the functional appliance has to be worn only a few hours a day, with great patients' satisfaction because of functional and aesthetic advantages. CONCLUSIONS. The association of these appliances allows to eliminate the use of Class II elastics, promoting an ideal arch form and reducing the time of orthodontic treatment.
