The present invention relates to FERROUS FRUCTOSE-1,6-DIPHOSPHATE, use, composition and a process for teh obtainment thereof. The compound of the invention shows a very high Fe2+ titre and anexcellent stability in time and is useful for the preparation of a food supplement and/or a medicament for the prevention and/or the treatment of dietetic and/or morbid iron deficienty, in particular of dietary anamia, sideropenia, anemia.
